Batman: Arkham Revealed Nightwing's Robin Origins In The Weirdest Way

Nightwing is one of the most prominent and popular characters in the DC Universe, but his rich history as the original Robin was revealed in a strange manner in the Batman: Arkhamgames. Rocksteady’s excellent series of superhero titles put players in the role of the Dark Knight well into his career as a legendary crimefighter, meaning that Dick Grayson had already graduated from Robin to Nightwing before the events of 2009’s Batman: Arkham Asylum.

Nightwing and Robin made their franchise debuts in Batman: Arkham City as playable characters in the Riddler’s Challenge bonus maps. However, while Tim made a voiced appearance in Batman: Arkham City’s foreshadow-laden story and the subsequent Harley’s Revenge DLC, Dick remained silent and locked to the side challenges. It wouldn’t be until 2015’s Batman: Arkham Knight that Nightwing had a supporting role in both the main storyline and the Season of Infamy DLC sidequests.
