Overview

The tallest top 10 player in history, Isner set a career-high singles ranking of No.8 in 2018 following a run to a first Grand Slam semifinal at Wimbledon and has competed in every edition of the Laver Cup for Team World since 2017, the only player to have done so across both teams.

Off Court

The son of a builder and real estate agent, Isner started playing tennis when he was nine. A talented basketballer too, he opted to focus on tennis when he was 16 and played college tennis for the University of Georgia before turning pro. He and his wife Madison, who he married in December 2017, have a daughter Hunter born in September 2018 and a son, John Hobbs born in October 2019.

Career

Isner won his 16th ATP Tour singles title at Atlanta in 2021 and advanced to his first ATP 1000 semifinals in more than two years in Toronto. He won his first ATP Masters 1000 title in Miami in 2018, becoming the oldest first-time winner at that level aged 32. The American has won 14 of his 16 ATP singles titles on home soil and has finished 12 straight seasons
