Manuela Veloso is Head of AI Research at JPMorganChase and Herbert A. Simon University Professor Emerita in Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. Veloso pursues research interests in core AI as AI robot and digital agents with perception, cognition, and action. She further aims at a seamless human-AI symbiotic interaction. Veloso is a member of the National Academy of Engineering for “her contributions to artificial intelligence and its applications to robotics and to the financial domain.” She is a past president of AAAI, and a co-founder of RoboCup. Veloso is a fellow of AAAI, IEEE, ACM, and AAAS. She has a BSc. and MSc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from IST, an MA in Computer Science from BU, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from CMU. Manuela Maria Veloso (12 de agosto de 1957) es la exlíder del Departamento de Aprendizaje automático en la universidad de Carnegie Mellon y profesora en la universidad de Herbert Un. Simon así como  en la Escuela de Informática en Carnegie Mellon Universidad. Fue presidenta de la Asociación para el Avance de la Inteligencia Artificial (AAAI) hasta 2014, y cofundadora y expresidenta de Federación RoboCup. Es socia de AAAI, Instituto de Eléctrico e Ingenieros de Electrónica (IEEE), Asociación Estadounidense para el Avance de la Ciencia (AAAS), y Asociación para la Maquinaria Computacional (ACM). Es una experta internacional en robótica e inteligencia artificial.[1]

En mayo de 2018 fue contratada por JP Morgan Chase para liderar  y encabezar su investigación en inteligencia artificial.[2]

Manuela Maria Veloso (born August 12, 1957) is the Head of J.P. Morgan AI Research[4] & Herbert A. Simon University Professor Emeritus[5] in the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University, where she was previously Head of the Machine Learning Department. She served as president of Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) until 2014, and the co-founder and a Past President of the RoboCup Federation. She is a fellow of AAAI, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), and Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). She is an international expert in artificial intelligence and robotics.[2][6]
