Kaadhal Mannan (transl. King of Love) is a 1998 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film written and directed by Saran. The film stars Ajith Kumar and newcomer Maanu in the lead roles. It also saw veteran music composer M. S. Viswanathan make his debut in a supporting role, whilst Vivek, Karan and Girish Karnad also played other roles.

Maanu Biography
Maanu is a noted dancer who has acted in two Tamil films - Kadhal Mannan (1998) and Enna Satham Indha Neram (2014). Though she had a promising film career ahead after the box office success of her debut opposite Ajith Kumar, she chose dance over acting and set up a performing arts company and associated with dance shows in India and abroad. "Unnai Paartha" from the movie Kadhal Mannan, featuring Maanu was a chartbuster song of 1998. The romantic track was sung by S. P. Balasubrahmanyam. In 2014, she made a comeback to the industry with Enna Satham Indha Neram in 2014, where she played the pivot role of the mother of the Quadruplets.
Maanu is an Assamese, born and brought up in Guwahati, Assam. She started her formal training in dance at the age of 4. She learnt both Manipuri and Kathak under the guidance of Gurumoni Sinha Singh, Guru Arabinda Kalita and Guru Hajuwari by mid 1990s. Maanu is a Tamil actress, who performed with Ajith in Kadhal Mannan. Maanu is from Assam, and she is born to M.K. Sharma and Prabha Devi. She did her studies in Chennai, and while doing her college in Chennai, she was called upon by director Charan to act in Kadhal Mannan. Till 2014, it was the only film she acted. She was very cute and stylish and the audience missed this beautiful actress so long. As she is a Bharathanatyam dancer, she moved all around the world and hence she did not get time to act in the films. She got various offers after Kadhal Mannan; she denied it as she was passionate about dancing. After 15 years, she appeared in the film Enna Sattham Indha Neram as a mother of quadruplets.
