MOTORCYCLES are DRUGS™
Our first podcast guest of 2023 was Livio Suppo, one of the most successful team principals in MotoGP. He won multiple world championships with Casey Stoner and Marc Marquez in his time with Ducati and Repsol HRC. He told us how he thought the 2023 season would shake out, so it was natural that we’d talk again just days after the season wrapped to get his thoughts on a topsy-turvy year, and what he thinks 2024 will bring.
Listen to our podcast episode with Livio Suppo from March 2023.
Livio, when we last spoke, the 2023 MotoGP season was about to begin. All the riders were healthy, Saturday sprint races were new, and Pecco Bagnaia's factory Ducati wore the #1 plate. Looking back, what were some of the highlights for you?

Suppo: Suzuki a kind of compromise between Ducati and Honda
Announced as Suzuki's new MotoGP team manager in the short break between the Mandalika test and this weekend's Qatar season-opener, Livio Suppo met with the media on Thursday to talk in detail about his return to the paddock.
The Italian, 57, oversaw MotoGP titles for both Ducati and Honda before leaving the sport at the end of 2017.
Suppo now makes a comeback with Suzuki, who lost previous team manager Davide Brivio to F1 shortly after winning the 2020 title with Joan Mir, then suffered a winless 2021 before going in pursuit of a replacement.
Brivio himself was long rumoured to be in contention to return, but when he was reconfirmed with Alpine, Suzuki project leader Shinichi Sahara quickly concluded a deal with Suppo.
"I told Sahara-san, I think if there is any chance of Davide coming back, I respect the job he has done with this team," Suppo said. "Because they started from zero when Suzuki re-joined MotoGP and Davide did everything. Then winning the title in 2020.
"I think it was fair to say if Davide was in the

MotoGP: Livio Suppo returns to the paddock through the back door of Moto2
After a short-lived stint at Suzuki in 2022, former Honda and Ducati manager Livio Suppo is making his return to the world of Grand Prix, but this time in Moto2. Suppo joins the Italtrans Racing Team as a consultant, delving into the development categories where he hopes to bring his considerable expertise.
In a recent interview with speedweek, Livio Suppo, Racing Consultant details the circumstances that led him to accept this consulting role: “ last year, the owners of Italtrans approached me to ask me to assist them in the reorganization of their team. Italtrans is a well-established logistics and transportation company in Italy, with an impressive fleet of over 800 trucks and a rich history, starting from nothing to what it is today. Working with the owners, who are very pleasant people, is a real pleasure. I am delighted to be able to share my experience with a Moto2 team »
suppo explains that his involvement began in mid-September last year, a start he considers late but fruitful: “ w
