Kaleo (stylized as KALEO) is an Icelandicblues rock band which formed in Mosfellsbær in 2012. It consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Jökull Júlíusson, drummer Davíð Antonsson, bassist Daniel Kristjánsson, lead guitarist Rubin Pollock and harmonicist Þorleifur Gaukur Davíðsson. They have released three studio albums, Kaleo (2013), A/B (2016), and Surface Sounds (2021),[1] as well as the EPGlasshouse (2013).

A/B has sold over one million albums worldwide. Its second single, "Way Down We Go", was certified double platinum in the US and reached number one on the BillboardAlternative Songs chart on 20 August 2016.[2][3] Kaleo received a Grammy Award nomination in 2017 for Best Rock Performance for the song "No Good".[4]

KALEO is one of the newer artists from Iceland to burst onto the international music scene. The band was formed in 2012 by a group of childhood friends from Mosfellsbær, a suburb of Reykjavík. The group quickly became a big hit locally. 

The band is lead by vocalist Jökull Júlíusson or JJ, as he goes by, drummer Davíð Antonsson, bassist Daníel Kristjánsson, and lead guitarist Rubin Pollock. As of early 2020, the band has released two studio albums, KALEO in 2013 and A/B in 2016. 

The single “Way Down We Go” from A/B reached platinum in the US twice, eventually reaching number one on the Billboard Alternative Songs in 2016! The band is famous for their creative music videos featuring their home country, Iceland.
