Young Voices of the Philippines (YVP) Celebrates Milestone Win at the 36th Awit Awards

Jesuit Music Ministry’s (JMM) youngest artist, the Young Voices of the Philippines (YVP), added another honor to its growing list of accolades, bagging the title of “Best Recording by a Child or for Children” at the 36th Awit Awards.

The scholar choir of the Treble Choir Association of the Philippines brought home top honors for “Kalinislinisan”, to the delight of its acclaimed conductor, Dr. Maria Theresa Vizconde Roldan, resident composer, Prof. Jude B. Roldan, and JMM Director Lester Mendiola, who received the prized trophy on behalf of the group, last November 9, Thursday evening at Makati’s Baked Studios.

The Bukas Palad Music Ministry, the voices and the composers behind the popular church songs such as Tanging Yaman, Hindi Kita Malilimutan, Anima Christi, One More Gift, and many more, is coming to Davao City to serenade everyone in the season of Advent and Christmas on December 9, 2023, at the Social Hall of the University of South Eastern Philippines.

Hangad is the self-titled debut album of the Philippine-based vocal ensembleHangad. It contains the singles "Pananatili" and "Panunumpa", the latter of which was popularized by pop singerCarol Banawa.

It was twice released, first in cassette tape, then in compact disc. The cassette version was first released in 1998. The album was re-launched on compact disc (with six new songs), on June 24, 2000, at the Aldaba Recital Hall, UP Theater, UP Diliman, Quezon City.
