Miriam and Jim Mulva are part-time De Pere residents with historic deep backgrounds in De Pere. They also reside in Austin, Texas. Both are graduates of De Pere and Green Bay Catholic and public schools.
Miriam was born in Green Bay and grew up in West De Pere. She graduated from St. Boniface Catholic grade school in De Pere, St. Joseph Academy in Green Bay, and St. Norbert College with a degree in elementary education. Miriam was a competitive and accomplished Wisconsin swimming athlete associated with the Green Bay YMCA.
Jim was born in Oshkosh, but his family moved to De Pere when he was very young. Jim attended St. Francis Catholic school and graduated from Dickinson grade school and De Pere High School. He attended the University of Oklahoma and the University of Texas at Austin under a Navy ROTC scholarship. From 7th grade through high school, Jim spent most of his high school time working at Green Bay Aviation as a line boy which is also where he earned his pilot licenses. James Joseph Mulva (born June 19, 1946) is the former chairman and chief executive officer of ConocoPhillips. As announced on July 14, 2011, Mulva retired upon completion of the separation of ConocoPhillips into two stand-alone publicly traded companies.[1]
Career
Mulva served as president and chief executive officer of ConocoPhillips from 2002 to 2004. Prior to that, he served as chairman and chief executive officer of Phillips Petroleum Company from 1999 to 2002. He had served as Phillips' president and chief operating officer since May 1994 and executive vice president since January 1994. He had been senior vice president in 1993 and chief financial officer since 1990, at which time he joined the company's management committee.
Mulva is a member of the National Petroleum Council, which is an oil and natural gas advisory committee to the US Secretary of Energy.
